KUALA
LUMPUR, June 18, 2003 – Kumpulan Perubatan Johor (KPJ), one
of the largest healthcare groups in the region, signed an agreement
with novaMSC to implement its vision for the hospital group – a
complete electronic medical record using novaMSC’s healthcare
solution VESALIUS.
VESALIUS, piloted in Puteri Specialist Hospital (PSH)
last year to support the doctor’s consultation process. The
agreement will see a phased extension be extended to cover other
modules such as Pharmacy, Inpatient Nursing & Order Management,
Clinical Templates and Operating Theatre Management.
The solution will provide PSH doctors with online
and organized access to vital clinical data and other diagnostic
results. With integration to the hospital’s existing Laboratory
System, real-time laboratory results will also be made available
to doctors on their desktop.
Patient safety is uppermost on any caregiver’s
mind, likewise VESALIUS R&D’s priority. In-built features
to eliminate common prescription errors with alerts to drug allergies,
maximum dosage and drug-drug interactions ensure our clinical users
can fully focus on patient care. Sophisticated set-ups also automate
and make certain drug instructions and cautionary given to patients
are accurate, consistent and legible.
As part of the project, VESALIUS-Clinical Management
and Pharmacy will be extended to another of KPJ’s hospital,
Johor Specialist Hospital (JSH).

VESALIUS is a web-based system developed to integrate
the functions of a hospital or hospitals within their hospital
group to allow the sharing of information. Besides the administrative
functions, VESALIUS encompasses the clinical needs of caregivers
such as doctors, surgeons and nurses.
